The winter NELIG meeting will be held at Springfield College on January 23rd, 2004 from 10 AM – 1PM. Mary MacDonald and Joanna Burkhardt of the University of Rhode Island Libraries will present a thumbnail sketch of their ACRL National workshop from April 2003. "Information Literacy: Time for a Comprehensive Plan" will outline important timelines, documents, and organizational schemes that will help to propel your library's information literacy plan ideas to new heights. Even the smallest of plans will grow using this planning process! This workshop will be a full day preconference at ALA June 2004.

Plans are in the works for the NELIG Annual Program. Tentatively entitled “Creative Collaboration: It Takes a Campus to Educate a Student,” the program will take place at Tufts University on June 11, 2004 from 9 AM – 3 PM. The planning committee is asking for examples of successful instruction librarian collaboration with various campus groups/programs/committees/services/departments/faculty, and recruitment of faculty, deans, IT folks, people involved in programs for foreign, minority, ESL, etc, groups on campus who can tell us their perspective on libraries and how we can approach them for collaboration and what we can offer their students.
