Election Results Dawn Thistle, Chair, Nominating Committee Online voting for the 2004 ACRL New England Chapter election took place during the month of March. Webmaster Val Harper mounted the ballot on the Chapter web site with biographical information about each of the candidates. Members were able to make their choices and submit their votes, which were then e-mailed to Dawn Thistle, Nominating Committee Chair. All ballots were checked to verify Chapter membership (resulting in a couple of new members as well as an updated membership list, thanks to Carrie Bartels), and the votes were tabulated. Our excellent slate consisted of: VP/Pres.Elect: Christopher Cox, WPI Secretary: Suzanne Wones, Harvard (Kennedy School) Member-at-Large: Janice Wilbur, Assumption College And the winners are: Christopher Cox, VP/Pres.Elect; Kendra St. Aubin, In addition to the election of officers, members also ratified a change to the ByLaws which combines the Publications and Newsletter Committee with the Publicity Committee to create a unified CommunicationsCommittee. It is the expectation of the Board that this new structure will facilitate and coordinate communications of all kinds, including the Newsletter, publicity announcements, and the Chapter web site. With new officers, and an improved communications structure, your ACRL New England Chapter is ready to begin a new year! |
