New England Library Instruction Group

Our most recent NELIG meeting was held on Friday, May 14th at Olin College of Engineering. Howard Silver, Associate Head of Science Library & Anne Graham, Civil Engineering Librarian and GIS Liaison from MIT spoke about library participation in the Terrascope program http://web.mit.edu/terrascope/www/, an experimental learning community at MIT that is part of a family of integrated studies programs.

The NELIG Annual Program, "Creative Collaborations: It Takes a Campus to Educate a Student," will be held on June 11 from 9 - 3:30 at Tufts University in Boston, MA. Keith Barker - Associate Vice Provost, Undergraduate Education and Director of the Institute for Teaching & Learning at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, will be the keynote speaker. 14 presentations detailing various collborations will follow. The cost to attend the program is $25 for ACRL/NE members, $30 for non-members. You can register to attend at http://www.wesleyan.edu/libr/nelig/2004/register.html.

Barbara Kenney from Roger Williams University will take over as Chair for the 2004-2005, with Sandra Rothenberg from Framingham State serving as Chair-Elect and Mary MacDonald from URI as Secretary.
