The ACRL/NEC’s Information Technology Interest Group (ITIG) has had a great year. Led by an steering committee made up of: Heidi Abbey, U Conn (listserv moderator); Sarah Amato, Bowdoin College; Bill Anger, Providence College; Elaine Bean (co-chair), Rivier College; Melissa Behney (chair-elect), Connecticut College; Nancy George (co-chair), Salem State College; Susan McMullen, Roger Williams University; Bridget Rawding (secretary), Merrimack College; Frances Schlesinger, U Mass Boston; Janice Schuster, Providence College; and Olga Verbeek (past-chair and webmaster), Salve Regina University; ITIG has had three incredibly interesting meetings this year and is planning another for June 15, 2004, at the U Mass Boston Library.

Our meetings are focused on library information technology issues: our August meeting topic was on XML, the November meeting was on providing library services for the distance learner; and the March meeting was on campus portals and libraries. Our June meeting is set for June 15, 2004, at the U Mass Boston Library, and will feature a general ITIG business meeting and informal discussions on emerging trends in library information technology. For information on past and future meetings and how to join our listserv, please see the ITIG web page: http://www.acrlnec.org/sigs/itig/. We welcome academic librarians interested in library information technology issues to become active in ITIG and attend our meetings. See you at an ITIG meeting!

See the ITIG web site for more details of interest group activities.
