The ACRL/NEC Annual Conference The ACRL/NEC Annual Conference will held on Friday, May 20, 2005, at Rivier College in Nashua, N.H. The theme of this year's conference is The Future of Academic Libraries. Conference planners are very excited to announce the 2 keynote speakers this year will be Frances Maloy, President of ACRL, and Roy Tennant, User Services Architect at the California Digital Library. President Maloy is Division Leader of Access Services at Emory University, and she was the leader of Organizational Redesign at Emory from 1999-2001. Ms. Maloy has served on the ACRL Board of Ethics, the Board of Directors, and on various ACRL committees. She is the author of "Defending the Freedom to Read: A Reflection of Personal Values and Censorship," College & Research Libraries News, March 1998. Her presentations on libraries and change include "Facilitating Change: Team Start Up at Emory University" (Living the Future IV, Tucson, AZ., April 2003), and "The Star Model-An Approach to Organizational Change" (ACRL 10th National Conference, March 2001). Roy Tennant, User Services Architect for the California Digital Library, has been instrumental in developing the eScholarship Repository and the eScholarship Editions. Roy is also the creator and editor of Current Cites, a monthly current awareness newsletter. He has been a leading player in the development of the Librarians' Index to the Internet . Many librarians know Roy from his monthly column on digital libraries published in Library Journal since 1997. Roy's latest book is Managing the Digital Library published by Reed Business Press.
