Nancy George appointed as VP-President Elect

In July the ACRL/NEC Board said good-bye to Christopher Cox. Chris accepted a position as Assistant Library Director at the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire, and thus had to resign from his new position of VP/President-Elect of ACRL/NEC. We wish Chris good luck and send our thanks for the time and leadership he put in to ACRL/NEC as past Chair of the New England Library Instruction Group (NELIG).

Nancy George, Electronic Resources Librarian at Salem State College, was appointed to replace Chris as VP/President-Elect. Nancy has been active over the years in ACRL/NEC as past Chair of NELIG and Co-Chair of the Information Technology Interest Group (ITIG). Nancy is well known among academic and public librarians in Massachusetts because of her work with the Massachusetts State College Association and with the Northeast Massachusetts Regional Library System (NMRLS). As VP/President Elect, Nancy will be busy planning the annual conference to be held at Rivier College in May 2005. The conference should prove to be a highlight for this year's ACRL/NEC activities. Theme for the annual conference is The Future of Academic Libraries and the featured speakers will be Frances Maloy, President of ACRL National, and Roy Tennant, a well-known expert on the application of new technologies in libraries.
