Walter Stine, Chair
Northeastern University

Leslie Inglis, Planning Committee
Franklin Pierce College

ASIG held its fall meeting on November 18, 2004. The title of the meeting was "Extreme Makeover: Access Services Edition -- Conversations with the Experts (You!)"

This program was designed as an opportunity to meet with colleagues to talk about different topics and exchange information and ideas. The meeting format was a series of discussion tables on topics related to Access Services, providing attendees the opportunity to discuss three topics of their choosing. Topics included, among others: E-Reserves, Resource Sharing, Combined Service Desks, Professional Development, Student Supervision, Library Security, and Stacks Maintenance.

The ASIG program committee has attempted to make its programs easily accessible to colleagues throughout New England. To this aim, the fall meeting was held in two locations simultaneously for the second year in a row. This year the program was held at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire and Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Attendees came from all six New England states: Dartmouth attracted 56 attendees and Boston College attracted 65.

Dartmouth College provided a great meeting room and many opportunities to meet colleagues and exchange ideas. Attendees came from as far away as Maine and northern Vermont, as well as New Hampshire. Attendees were enthusiastic about the variety of topics and resources offered.

The Boston College meeting included participants from Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. The discussion was lively throughout with many positive comments about the value of the program.
