The Women's Studies Interest Group (WSIG) will be holding a two-day retreat on July 21-22, 2005 at Colby College Special Collections, Waterville and the Margaret Chase Smith Library, Skowhegan, Maine. The program begins at Colby College Library, Special Collections on the afternoon of Thursday, July 21st. Holdings include published and unpublished works by Sarah Orne Jewett, Lilla Cabot Perry, Vernon Lee (Violet Paget), Lady Gregory, Lily and Elizabeth Yeats. Optional activities include a visit to the Colby College Museum of Art, a group dinner, and more. We'll stay overnight on the Colby College campus, in Waterville, Maine.

Friday, July 22nd we'll have a morning program at the Margaret Chase Smith Library. The Margaret Chase Smith Library is an archive, museum, educational facility, and public policy center devoted to preserving the legacy of the thirty-two year congressional career of former United States Senator Margaret Chase Smith.

Although the program is free, we do ask you to mail in the registration form (http://people.bu.edu/jchris/maineretreatreg.html) by July 1, 2005.
Housing at Colby College comes with breakfast, and is $38/person.
