Welcome to the Winter edition of ACRL New England Chapter News Online. Planning for the Annual Conference is moving at a fast clip. Get a spring conference update from the ACRL/NEC Vice President and Conference Chair, check the progress on the upcoming Constitution & Bylaws ratification vote and learn more about what our Interest Groups are planning leading into April.

The response to our first call for Poster Session proposals was phenomenal! We are looking forward to showcasing some of the fine work being done by colleagues throughout the region. Many thanks to all who participated in the process. Wait, there's more:

CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO SPECIAL CONFERENCE ISSUE OF
ACRL NEW ENGLAND CHAPTER NEWS ONLINE

We are looking for "best practices", "how-to" and/or "first-person account" articles that fit within the theme of our annual conference: "Leveraging Our Strengths: Alliances, Interdependencies and Developing Services". Some examples (not exhaustive): collaborations between library/librarians and other groups, rollout of new services or innovations using technology, examples of resource sharing, etc.
For consideration in the special conference issue, please send completed manuscripts by Friday, March 31, 2006 to bpulliam@providence.edu. Manuscripts should be 800-1000 words in length and sent as a separate email attachment in Microsoft Word only (.doc format). Please single space after periods and other punctuation.

The News is published three times a year by the New England Chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries. Copy deadline for the next issue is May 22, 2006. Comments and suggestions for the News Online are always welcome.
