In spite of our grassroots efforts, the USA PATRIOT ACT was reauthorized for another four years. Additional safeguards for the privacy of library patrons and records were not added to the Act.

In May I will be attending the ALA National Legislative Day where I will be updated on the current legislative agenda of ALA and ACRL. On May 2nd I will participate in lobbying Congress for support of American Libraries.
