Report of Constitution & Bylaws Committee

I am pleased to report that the three experienced members from last year’s committee have all agreed to continue for this year: Judy Carlson, Westfield State College; Carolyn Coates, Eastern Connecticut State University; and Laurie Sabol, Tufts University. As Chapter President, Christine Turner is an ex-officio member of the committee.

The committee’s major projects for this year include: comparing our manual with ACRL National’s guidelines; working with chairs to review and update committee and SIG pages in the manual; and drafting manual language as needed; for example, working with Suzanne Wones, the Chapter’s Legislative Network Representative, to develop a manual section on the recently formed Legislative Action Committee.

Manual pages have been updated to reflect actions approved by the Board at the June retreat to increase the amount of annual funding available to SIGs and adjust the timing for budget submissions for SIG programs. The Chapter Manual is available online at http://www.acrlnec.org/manual/manual.shtml.
