ITIG Launches Technology Column

Julie Linden
University of Massachusetts, Amherst

How do you keep up with new technologies in libraries? Maybe you have
favorite journals, web sites, and colleagues you consult on a regular basis.
Now you can add one more tool to that kit: ITIG's "Tech Corner," a new
column on technology issues in libraries, written by members of the
Information Technology Interest Group. Tech Corner debuted on ITIG's web
site in February. We've already published columns on netstations,
pay-for-printing solutions, and XML. Future columns will address topics such
as: Flash as a web development tool, the use of ColdFusion to bring
databases to the web, and new technology terms to know.

Take 10 or 15 minutes a month to learn about a new technology topic - visit
Tech Corner at: www.acrlnec.org/sigs/itig/techco rner.htm

If you have an idea for a Tech Corner column or, better yet, would like to
write one, please contact Julie Linden (jlinden@library.umass.edu).
