Gregor Trinkaus-Randall
Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners

The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners is proud to announce the
availability of its Massachusetts Special Collections Directory in hardcopy.
This directory is also available on the Web at www.mlin.lib.ma.us/spec_coll.htm l.
The hardcopy will provide repositories with a resource for their Reading Rooms.
Listing 654 individual institutions, the volume provides institutional staffs and
researchers a well-indexed, easy-to-use resource for finding information on a myriad
of research topics throughout Massachusetts. This 417-page volume is organized by
municipality followed by the institutions in alphabetical order. General
information about the repository includes the contact person(s), telephone
number, email address, URL, hours, services for the disabled, other services,
and published monographs and journals. Under the special collections section
additions entries include the holdings by format, collection descriptions,
photocopying procedures, and finding guides available. Finally, the volume is
indexed by personal and corporate name, institution, collection description,
and subject. Copies can be obtained by contacting:
