NEBIC Meeting

Our next NEBIC meeting is Friday, December 1, 2000 from 9 am - 12 noon in
Boston at UMass Boston. The meeting will be held at Healey Library.

Anna Litten of Emerson College will present a talk on
"Critical Thinking in the Research Lab". Guiding students in critical thinking is rapidly becoming one of the most important ways teaching librarians can use instruction sessions to keep pace with our expanding role as leaders in information literacy. Our creative use of library session can lead to sessions that are fun and reach students in a meaningful way. This session will focus on how we can help students be better creative thinkers in the research process.

Directions to the U Mass campus are available at http://www.umb.edu/about_umb/directions.html Participants should park in the garage. There is a $3.50 parking fee. The Library entrance is on the second floor and is accessible via an enclosed walkway. Depending on where you park, take the elevator to the second floor. Enter the walkway and follow the blue signs to Healey Libray. The meeting will be on the 4th floor of the library in the Center for Library Instruction. Please e-mail Sara Baron at sara.baron@umb.edu for additional UMass Boston information.

Be on the look out for an email discussion on "NEBIC -our name".
