Winter 2001, No. 92
The ACRL / New England Chapter's Collection Development Interest Group met on Nov. 28 at Alumnae Library, Elms College in Chicopee, Massachusetts to discuss the importance of the faculty-librarian liaison in collection development. After presentations by Francine DeFranco and Barbara Cervera, librarians at the University of Connecticut/Storrs, and Edward Oberholtzer, a librarian at Tufts University, the presenters and attendees engaged in a question and answer period. Among topics covered during the presentations were organizational structure and support for library liaisons, practical suggestions for establishing and maintaining faculty-librarian communication, and concrete examples of how faculty-librarian relationships developed. Information about the liaison program at UConn is available on the web: http://spirit.lib.uconn.ed u/Liaison/prog99.htm.
