Introducing LOCI

Mark Caprio
Boston College

LOCI, Librarians on Online Course Information, is the newest ACRL/NEC interest group. It was formed by Jo-Ann Michalak, Director of Tisch Library at Tufts University, and Mickey Zemon, Library Director at Emerson College, after a discussion of web-based course management software at the ACRL/CLS Directors Discussion Group at ALA Midwinter 2001. The purpose of LOCI is to serve as a forum for sharing information on how academic librarians are linking electronic resources with web-based course information software, assisting faculty in the use of these tools and promoting information literacy within this new teaching and learning environment. Watch the Listserv for information on future meetings.
