Call for Petition Candidates for
ACRL New England Chapter Offices!

It is that time of year when the ACRL/NEC Election Nominating Committee puts together its slate of officers.

Nominations are currently being accepted for the offices of Vice-President/President Elect, Treasurer and a Member-at-Large (two-year term).

Members may also nominate candidates. Article II (Nominations and Elections), Section 2, of the By-laws provides that "any member of the chapter may present a petition signed by not fewer than ten chapter members proposing additional nominations. Such nominations shall be included on the official ballot."

The election itself will be held in March for offices commencing for the 2003-2004 academic year. If you are nominating someone, please ask them before your nomination if they are willing to run. Petitions should be mailed to Nominating Committee Chair:
Harvey Varnet
Library Director
Phillips Memorial Library
Providence College
549 River Avenue
Providence, RI 02918

Petitions must be received by January 1, 2001, in order to obtain biographical information from petition candidates for the ballot.

Questions should be directed to Harvey Varnet, Nominating Committee Chair, at: hvarnet@providence.edu.
