Librarians on Online Course Interest Group (LOCI) |
2006-2007 |
LOCI held one meeting this academic year and contributed resources as a co-sponsor for programs by two other SIGs. On Friday, March 9, 2007 LOCI held its spring meeting entitled, “A Day in the Life of the Off-Campus Librarian” at Tisch Library, Tufts University. Thirty-four attendees came to hear Ed Daniels, Off-Campus Services Librarian at Southern New Hampshire University, and April Levy, Reference Coordinator and Instruction Librarian at Lesley University, tell of their experience providing services to distance learners. LOCI collaborated on programs with two other SIGs (co-sponsor is such a strong word in these cases). We supported ITIG’s April 27 meeting, “Librarian/Faculty Collaboration” by posting notices and updates about the meeting and the date change on the LOCI mailing list. LOCI also supported ASIG’s June meeting, “Copyright in the Digital Era – Voices of Experience,” with monetary support, communications on the LOCI mailing list, and help in finding (although I will be stepping down as LOCI co-chair and Beth Rohloff, First-Year Library Instruction Coordinator at Tisch Library, Tufts University will join Stephanie St. Laurence as my replacement. It has been a very rewarding experience for me to be associated with such a fine group and I hope to stay involved in the New England Library scene. Respectfully submitted, |
