Annual Report

The SLIG held a very successful meeting on March 16th entitled “Many Pieces, One Puzzle: Providing Access to Electronic Journals”.  The meeting focused on the workings of link resolvers and the group was addressed by representatives from link resolver vendors, a publisher and a librarian.  A complete summary of the meeting, along with the Power Point presentations, is available from the SLIG webpage at http://www.hatchresources.com/acrlsig/spr07.htm .  About 100 people were registered for the meeting but due to a late snowstorm only 65 were able to attend. 

Patty Hatch, who had led the SLIG for many years, is stepping down as Co-Chair of the group.  She will continue to be active on the Planning Committee.  Anne Meringolo of Simmons College Library will be joining me as Co-Chair for the coming year.  Anne has participated in the Planning Committee for several years.  We hope to recruit some new members to the Committee and hold 2 small programs during the coming year.  We also plan to migrate the SLIG website from Patty’s server to the ACRL/NEC website.
