Responsibilities of the Chair:
The Chair(s) of the ACRL/NEC Access Services Interest Group typically serves for one year, but this may be extended
if the current chair(s) wish to continue in the position and the membership agrees.
At the end of each year the current Chair(s) will call for one or more volunteers from the ASIG membership who would
like to be the Chair or Co-Chairs for the upcoming year, pending the approval of the ASIG membership. The current Chair(s)
will assist the new Chair(s) during a brief transition period to ensure the continued smooth running of ASIG.
The ACRL/NEC President will be informed of the change in the annual report.
The duties of the Chair include:
Setting up planning meetings for programs and discussion of common concerns of the ASIG members.
Serving on the ACRL/NEC Board of Directors in a non-voting capacity; attending Board
meetings when appropriate or by special request from the Board.
Attending ASIG meetings and programs and ACRL/NEC conferences.
Submitting verbal or e-mail reports for each Board meeting.
Maintaining an updated list of members and sending a copy at the end of January to the
Membership Chair.
Submitting a written annual report with a list of members to the President at the Annual
Meeting.
Notifying current Board members, Publicity, and Newsletter and Publications Committee
Chairs of all interest group activities.
