Annual Conference Scholarship for Librarians/Library Staff
The purpose of the Association of College and Research Libraries/New England Chapter (ACRL/NEC)
Annual Conference Scholarships is to enable librarians/library staff members who have never attended
the ACRL/NEC Annual Conference, to attend the ACRL/NEC Annual Conference.
Eligibility
- The applicant must be employed at a New England college/university library.
- The applicant must be a member of the ACRL/NEC.
- The applicant must not have attended any ACRL/NEC Annual Fall or Spring Conference.
Terms
- The applicant must submit a copy of the completed application form and related documents to the ACRL/NEC’s Awards and Scholarships Committee by February 12, 2010.
- The applicant must submit proof of employment – current copy library staff directory – at a New England college/university library.
- Award winners will provide assistance to the Annual Conference Planning Committee on the day of the Annual Conference. In addition, all scholarship and award winners will be expected to write about their experiences for the ACRL/NEC newsletter.
- Up to six total scholarships will be awarded per year; one award winner per New England state.
- Each scholarship will equal the registration fee of attending the Annual Conference. Up to $150, for travel-related expenses, will be reimbursed to each winner after the Annual Conference upon completion/submission of appropriate forms and original receipts.
- ACRL/NEC will acknowledge applications upon receipt via email.
Presentation
Award recipients will be notified as soon as the Awards and Scholarships Committee makes a
decision. An announcement of the winners will be made in the ACRL/NEC Newsletter as well as
during the awards and scholarships presentation at the ACRL/NEC Annual Conference.
