The Planning Committee met four times during 2000/2001. The group focused on three topics:

    • Revising the ACRL/NEC Serials Interest Group Web Site.
    • Transferring the membership database from an outdated system to Microsoft Access.

Once again, my planning committee members came through and put together a magnificent Fall program. I am grateful for their continued guidance and support.

  • ACRL/NEC SIG Web Site Revision
  • Throughout the spring, the ACRL/NEC Serials Interest Group Web Site revised the web site for the interest group. The URL for the web site is http://www.hatchresources.com/acrlsig/. The site includes the following: information about the SIG, program summaries, planning committee activities, links to serials and technical services sites on the Internet, forms for joining the SIG, confirming your mailing address, and providing feedback.

The planning committee set the following guidelines for the Web site:

    • The site will be updated at least once every quarter
    • Maintenance of the site will be shared amongst SIG planning committee members
    • Feedback will be collected and reported to the ACRL/NEC Board as part of Board reports.

5.   Database Update

The group also undertook the task of transferring membership information from an old database system into Microsoft Access. This will allow more flexibility in the database and it will be easier to maintain the data.

I am pleased that the Serials Interest Group had another successful year. I am looking forward to continuing my role as chair and to bringing informative programs to our members.
