1. Proposed Change to the ACRL New England Chapter Constitution
The proposed change to the Constitution would eliminate the requirement that the Chapter secretary, treasurer, and treasurer-elect be members of the national ACRL organization. Why? ACRL New England Chapter elects officers from its regional membership. While the president and vice-president have duties at the national level and must be members of ACRL in order to fulfill those duties, the secretary, treasurer, and treasurer-elect have no such duties. Eliminating the requirement of ACRL membership for these offices will increases the pool of Chapter members eligible to be nominated to run for Chapter offices.
