Do you want to contribute but only have a small amount of time? Are you interested in networking and staying informed? One of the benefits of Chapter membership is local involvement in issues and activities concerning all academic libraries. Volunteering is the best way to make the most of your membership and there is always a need for helpful hands in large and small ways. We are all members of the team and no experience is necessary.
There are a Number of Ways to be Engaged:
- Special Interest Groups (SIGS):
SIGS offer one or more meetings/programs per year. Consult the SIG web page or contact either the Vice-President/President-Elect or the Chair of whichever SIG interests you for further details.
- Annual Spring Conference:
There is an annual need for volunteers to work with the Conference Planning Committee. Interested people should contact the Continuing Education Committee about serving next year.
- Other Ways to Get Involved:
Write an article for the newsletter or a post for the Facebook Fan Page. Host a brown bag lunch for librarians in your area. There is funding available for Local Chapter sponsored activities.
